A year round destination; Manali, Dharmashala and Dalhousie are  famous for it snow fall during winter season (November to January) and pleasant cool climate during summers. The Rohatang pass is closed during winters. The appropriate time to visit is October to November and from March to May. The monsoons during June and July are to be avoided due to during monsoons due to probability of landslides and slipper roads.

Dalhousie

Khajjiar : Khajjiar is a small town located 25 km away from the Dalhousie and is appropriate for the Day Trip.Centred by the small lake and surrounded by the thick Deodar and Pine forests, the vast green ground of the Khajjiar are avowed for its parallelism with Switzerland in minor-league. The aesthetic scenery makes a picturesque backdrop for photography. Find an ancient Khajji Nag temple dedicated to snake god nestled near the Khajjiar ground.

Authors’ recommendation: Get a little old fashioned and live your nostalgic past with your kids-take a packed lunch from Dalhousie for a day picnic to Khajjiar, spread a long sheet on the grass, lay down the  picnic lunch, watch your children roll down on the open ground of Khajjiar or take a walk into the pine forest to some distance. The ground of Khjiaar is there to offer refreshing family moments. Add liveliness to your day with horse riding, cricket or Hot Air balloon ride.

Dainkund Peak : Situated 10km away from Dalhoisie, the Peak of Dainkund Mountain offers the 360degree panoramic view of the valley below and surrounding mouintains.Inlaid with the rich carpet of the grass and flowers it can be visited any time of the year except the winter months of November to January when it is snow covered. While you dawdle around you may run into the Pohalni Mata temple which is about a kilometer walk from the peak.

Dharamshala

Tapovan: Tapovan is situated 16km away from Dharmashala and is known as the ashram established by Swami Chinmayanada.A complex have Lord Rama and Lord Hanuman temple along with the school and meditation centre.

Dal Lake and Naddi Picnic Spot : Situated 11 kilometer from the Dharmashala, it’s a lake edged by Deodar trees. A small temple Of Lord Shiva on the banks of the lake gives the religious aura to the Lake. It is also known for the religious fair that take place during month of September. About a kilometer away from the Dal lake lays a new picnic spot Naddi.The spot also serves a base of trekking to Kerari Lake.

Manali

Mall Road : Explore the busy streets of the Mall Road for eateries, cafes, wollen shopping, miniature wood souvenirs, name engraved rice grain and key chains.
