Day 04: Corbett Tiger Safari Tour

Kosi River is a perennial river in Corbett National Park and forms the eastern boundary of Corbett National Park, Wild animals use its water for drinking, and River is a famous spot for fishing and angling activities. During the fishing season that ranges from October till mid-December and from mid-February to June end, you can catch mahseer fish at the river. It is famous for the Binsar Wildlife Sanctuary located on the Jhandi Dhar hills of Kumaon. Jim Corbett National Park Established in 1936 is named after famous conservationist and writer Jim Corbett. The park became a Project Tiger in 1973. Mankameshwar Temple: Mankameshwar Temple is a Hindu religion shrine adjacent to Narsingh Maidan at Ranikhet town of Uttarakhand. This temple was built in 1978 by the Kumaon Regimen.
Majkhali: Majkhali is a small hemlet which is well known for its natural beauty. This beautiful temple is located at 12 km. from Ranikhet town on Almora road and Majkhali is also famous for Goddess Durga.

Winter (November to February): The humidity level is drops down to about 57% and animals can be easily visible during this time as they come out to bask in the sun. The days are delightful and the nights are fairly cold. The night temperature can fall down to 5o C. during the night. Summer (March to mid-June): The days can be very hot during this time, with the temperature crossing the 40o C mark most of the times. The scorching heat of the sun becomes quite unbearable for the animals as well as the inhabitants. Also, a hot wind, specific to the region blows throughout the day during summers.
Monsoon (mid-June to October): The rain showers bring respite to the parching landscape from the blazing temperature. The weather becomes quite pleasant with the drop in temperature. The humidity soars up to 98 percent making the weather very sultry during monsoons. However, the park is closed for the tourists during the rainy season because this is primarily the mating season of most of the animals.
River rafting in jim corbett
River Rafting is a most adventure activity in Corbett national park which can be done in River Kosi and it is only possible in Monsoon season. The river is the heart of Corbett national park where you can get an awesome experience to see a free flowing river with river rafting.
You will be taken for an exciting rafting session for about 30 Minutes on one of the most exciting rivers in Kumaon region. You get to raft through some great Class II or III rapids. Ramganga River: It is the largest of all the precious water bodies in the park and it is flows around a stretch of near about 100 kilometers before you get inside the park near Marchula. Approximately, it flows 40 Km. east to west inside the park till Kalagarh where it meets plains. It collects water from the Palain, Mandal and Sonanadi rivers during this run through the park and finally drains into River Ganga near Farrukhabad in Uttar Pradesh.
Kosi River: The Kosi is a perennial river that servers major portion of the Corbett's wild as the Corbett wild use the Kosi river to quench their thirst. Eastern periphery of the park is fed by Kosi that flows from Mohan till Ramnagar via Dhikuli though the Kosi does not enter the park boundary.
Sonanadi River: This River has been named after the Sonanadi wildlife Sanctuary that adjoins Corbett National Park and held as a crucial part of Corbett Tiger Reserve. It enters the Corbett from the North-West direction and merges into the Ramganga River at its reservoir. This gorgeous river is the significant tributary of Ramganga River.

Bhimtal: Bhimtal is 22 km far from Nainital The prime attraction of Bhimtal is the Bhimtal Lake which has a beautiful island at the centre.
