Fairs and Festivals

Daman & Diu

Ganga Ji fair – Celebrated in the village of Dabhel every year in the month if march. As a popular venue of grand fair and celebrations that is visited by many people to worship the Shivligam that appeared in here.

Nariyal Poornima – This festival is organized by the local administration in the month of August. At this time people visit here from every corner of the country to watch variety of colorful water sports at the creek between Moti and Nani Daman.

Christmas – In the month of December this Christian festival is celebrated and people come from everywhere to see the celebration that includes the fascinating Portuguese dance.

Silvassa

Kite festival makar sankranti – This festival is celebrated in month of January. During this day the sky is filled with beautiful kites and tourists from every corner of the world visit here to participate in this fest.

Monsoon Magic festival – This one month festival that goes on from August to September is a unique festival organized to bring tourists here during the monsoon. This is also a great medium to introduce them to local culture and traditions.

What to eat :

Daman and Diu are famous for road side stalls that sell local sea food which are a must try. The typical Gujrati and Marathi food items are really famous here as well.

8 day Itinerary for Charming Daman and Diu honeymoon package

Day 01: Mumbai to Silvassa

Our representatives will pick you up from Mumbai airport/railway station and drive you for Silvassa. Upon arrival you’ll be checking in to the hotel.
Silvassa is covered with rich green forests, cascading waterfalls and imposing rivers along with a large variety of flora and fauna. In the evening, we will visit visit Piparia Udyan which is a beautiful place with a manmade park that provides wonderful views of of waterfalls and islands of flowers. Dinner will be arranged here that will be organized with the folk dance performance. Overnight at the hotel.

(Lion safari at Vasona)

Lion Safari at Vasona: This place is also a breeding center for Lions brought from Gir forests that you can see in forest like structure.

Silvassa Tribal museum: Here you can get an idea about tribal heritage of Dadra and Nagar Haveli, also you can buy the handicraft items made by these tribal communities.

Vanganga Lake and Dadra Garden: Located on the main highway that connects Dadra and Silvassa. This lake offers boating facilities and has beautiful garden and a children park in the compound.

Madhuban dam: This dam is built across River Daman Ganga and has boating facilities. This place offers excelling views of the nearby landscapes.

Satmaliya Deer Park: This Park is home to Blackbucks and Chinkara, located on the outskirts of the city.

Day 3: Silvassa to Daman

Today we will check out from the hotel in the morning and drive for Daman. Upon reaching you’ll be checking in the hotel for stay. From the hotel we will visit Moti Daman Fort that was constructed in 1559 and is an imposing structure with 2 gateways and 10 bastions. After a tour of four you’ll take a sunset cruise on the lake.

Day 4: Daman Sightseeing

Today we will leave from the hotel after breakfast for sightseeing, Daman is full of Cathedrals, forts and churches made in Portuguese style of architecture. Some of the must visit places are.

Fort of St Jerone is a fort now in ruins, it is made on the Damanganga river and provides a good view of the Arabian Sea.

Jhampore Beach is a beautiful secluded beach here you can go for the water sports activities like parasailing. You can also enjoy a variety of sea food here.

Devka beach is the most popular beach of Daman with lot of crowd and good eating options.

Right next to Devka beach Mirasol Waterpark is situated. This place has a beautiful Lake and a Waterpark that offer several rides. The lake has boating facilities.

Church of Bom Jesus was made in Portuguese style of architecture that used to be a parish church before Portuguese arrived.

Moti Daman fort is a massive fort that is constructed that stands today with ten bastions and two primary gateways. This fort has a beautiful garden in the premises.

Dominion monastery is a popular location among the Catholics who once used to come from all parts of the world to gain knowledge.

After sightseeing the day will be free for leisure at the beach after which we will return to the hotel for overnight stay and dinner.

Day 5: Daman to Diu (663 km/10h)

Today we will leave for Diu after checking out from the hotel, upon reaching we’ll be checking in the hotel. Rest of the day will be free for leisure activities at the beach or marking on the street side shops.

Day 6: Diu Beach visit and Scuba Diving

Today after breakfast we will visit Nagoa Beach and Ghoghla beach, the most popular beaches in this area famous for water sport activities like Para Sailing, Wind Surfing, Speed boat, Jet Skiing etc. You’ll go for Scuba Diving to experience the marine life from close. Scuba Diving in Diu is a wonderful experience as it will leave you with an experience of a lifetime.

Day 7: Diu Sightseeing

Today we will leave from the hotel for sightseeing in Diu after breakfast, some of the must visit places here are:

Diu Jail It was built during the Portuguese era and it looks divine amazing the night especially under the full moon.

St. Paul’s church: This church is dedicated to Lady of Immaculate Conception. Built in 17^th century this is one of the most beautifully designed Portuguese churches in the country.

St. Fransis of Assisi Church: This church is made in style of French Architecture.

Jalandhar Beach : It’s a very quiet, and isolated beach, suitable for swimming and sun-bathing.

Sea Shell Museum: This is the only museum in Asia with around 1500 type of sea shells on display.

INS Khukri Memorial: This is dedicated to the INS Khukri that sank during war of 1971 after falling being hit by 3 torpedoes.

Rest of the day will be free for beach activities/rest in hotel. Overnight and dinner in Diu

Day 8: Trip ends in Diu

You’ll check out from the hotel for your onward journey as the trip will end. You can leave for Mumbai/Ahmedabad by Luxury Volvo bus arranged from our side or leave for Diu airport/ Veraval junction where our representatives will drop you.
