Chamba tourism: Itinerary

Day 01: Chandigarh-Dalhousie (Arround 340km/7-8 hours)

Start the tour from Chandigarh Airport/Railway Station Drive to Dalhousie. It is arround 340 km  and take 8 hours to complete journey. The journey is too long so we will break journey at Pathankot. Have lunch and some rest at Mama Rasoi Resturant , proceed to Dalhousie. After Arrival Check-into Hotel and Overnight stay.

Day 01: Food

Lunch: In Between your Visit you may have lunch at Mama Rasoi ( Pathankot ) included Delicious and testy Punjabi Food

Dinner: Served at Hotel.

Day 02: Dalhousie Local Sightseeing

After breakfast proceed to visit local Full day sightseeing to Khajjiar, 18 Km  from Dalhousie. Its one of the most scenic saucer shaped Plateau and is surrounded by dense pine and deodar forests, its beauty has further been enhanced by a small lake in the center with a floating island and 9-hole golf course here are the other interesting places to cover. (Kalatop, Barapathar,  Panchpula, Baoli, Dainkund, Khajjiar also known as Miniswitzerland.)Return to Dalhousie , Dinner and overnight at the hotel.

Kalatop Wildlife Sanctuary: This is one of the famous place of attraction in Dalhousie is Kalatop wildlife sanctuary. Kala top is a pleasant getaway, with a panoramic view and a forest rest house. Kala Top is situated at an altitude of 8000 ft and 10 km away from G.P.O jquare. It has a variety of wildlife such as Deer, Bears & Leopards.

Khajjiar: Khajjiar is one of the famous retreats among the visitors. Khajjiar is famous for the popular Khajji Naga shrine dedicated to the serpent god from which the name is believed to have been derived. You can also enjoy trekking and adventurous activities at khajjiar.

Day 02: Food

Day 03: Khajjiar-Chamba (25 Km/1 Hour)

After Breakfast You will Visit Chamba Sightseeing Chamunda Devi Temple, Laxmi Narayan Temple, Chamera Dam, Rang Mahal, Hari Rai Temple and after that in evening Check into hotel at Kufri and overnight stay there . 

Chamunda Devi Temple: Chamunda Devi Temple is one of the most frequented worship centres in the region, dedicated to Chamunda Devi, a manifestation of Goddess Durga who killed demons like Chanda and Munda, according to Hindu mythology.

Laxmi Narayan Temple: Laxmi Narayan Temple is one of the most revered places of the region, which was built by Raja Sahil Verman. The shrine, constructed in the 10th century, is devoted to the Vaishnavite sect.

Day 03: Food

Lunch: In Between your Journey you may have lunch at Bhumeeja Resturant (MDR49, Khajjiar, Himachal Pradesh 176314)

Day 04:- Chamba-Bharmour (60 Km/3hours)

After breakfast check out from hotel and proceed to Bharmour. After long Journey you will visit to Bharmour.

Lakshana Devi Temple:  Lakshana Devi is the oldest temple at Chaurasi Temple Bharmour. It retains many of the old architectural features of wooden temples and has richly carved entrance.

Dharmeshvar :-  The another Holy place in Bharmour is Dharmesherwar. Dharamraj, known as Dharmeshvar mahadev was given a seat on the northern corner of Chaurasi by Maru Varman. It is the belief of locals that every departed soul stands here to seek final permission of Dharamraj to proceed ahead and travels through this temple after death seeking dwelling in Shiva Loka. It is believed to be the court of Dharamraj and is locally called ‘dhai-podi’, which means two and half steps.

Ganesh Temple:- The another holy and famous place in Bharmour is Gnaesh temple. This temple is situated near the entrance of Chaurasi temple, Bharmour. The wooden temple of ganesha was probably set on fire in Kira invasion of Bharmour and image was mutilated by cutting off legs. The temple of Ganesha is enshrined in a bronze image of Ganesha. This magnificent image is life size with both legs missing.

Day 04: Food

Lunch: In Between your Journey you may have lunch at Jagan Restaurant & Bar

Day 05: Sirmaur-Chandigarh (Arround 115 km/3-4 hours)

Next morning after breaksfast check out from hotel and proceed back toi Chandigarh. It is around 115 km and take 3-4 hours to complete journey. After arrival visit some local sightseeing of Chandigarh like Rock Garden, Rose Garden, Pinjore garden and Sukhna Lake. After that check into hotel and overnight stay at hotel.

Rock Garden: The name refers to a sculpture garden located near Sukhna Lake. The Rock garden is also known by the name Nek Chand’s Rock Garden after its founder. Nek Chand was a former government official who started cultivating this garden secretly in his spare time.

Rose Garden:  The Zakir Hussain Rose Garden is the largest botanical garden in Asia that is dedicated to roses. The garden is named after Zakir Hussain the former President of India. Apart from roses the garden also features several verities of medicinal herbs.

Pinjore Garden: The Pinjore gardens were created by a Nawab under the Mughal emperor Aurangzeb. The garden was expanded and reconstructed by the Maharaja Yadavindra of the State of Patiala. The garden houses several palatial structures that display a distinct blend of the Rajasthani and Mughal styles of architecture.

Sukhna Lake: Sukhna Lake in Chandigarh, India, is a reservoir at the foothills of the Himalayas, the Shivalik hills. This 3 km rainfed lake was created in 1958 by damming the Sukhna Choe, a seasonal stream coming down from the Shivalik Hills.

Day 05: Food

Lunch: Food Break at Honey Bridge View Returant (Nahan)

We will stop at Honey View  Resturant for taking lunch. You can Healty, Testy and Hygenic food there. The rooms were clean, food was good and staff was very cooperative.

Day 06: Chandigarh Depart

Next morning after breakfast check out from hotel and then you can proceed to Chandigarh Airport/Railway station. Our representative will drop you at Chnadigarh Airport/Railway Station.

Panchpula: Panchpula is almost 3 km. there is a very beautiful monument erected at panchpula where several streams meet at one point. That is Samadhi monument was built in memory of great Sardar Ajit Singh.

Dainkund: The another famous place in Dalhousie is Dainkund. You can enjoy the beautiful view of the hills, with the rivers Ravi, Beas and chenab threading through the distance. A Devi Temple is also situated on the hill.

Rang Mahal: Rang Mahal is one the largest monuments of the region made using brick. Located in Surara Mohalla, it exhibits a fusion of Mughal and British architectures. The foundation stone of the palace was laid by Raja Umed Singh of Chamba

Manimahesh  Temple:The temple which stands in the centre of Chaurasi temple, is main temple, enshrining a huge Shiva linga. The Shiva linga is nothing but a symbol of characteristic mark of lord Shiva and is worshiped in a symbol.

Narsingh  Temple: Narasimha is an incarnation of Vishnu in which the god is represented in therianthropic form as half man and half lion. The bronze image of this god, which is exquisitely cast, is awe-inspiring.

Lord Nandi Bull Temple: The one of the famous  holy place in  Bharmour is Lord Nandi Bull Temple. The life size metal bull Nandi, locally known as Nandigan with the broken ear and tail can be seen standing in a modern shed in front of Manimahesh temple. Nandi is chief of Ganesh and Shiva’s foremost attendant, who had shape of the bull and qualities of noble devotee..
