A serene trip on a bucolic site will do the necessary rejuvenation wonders.  While Shimla may be time consuming, Parwanno is the most idyllic and picturesque hill station for a quite one night and 2 days. From Chandigarh it is around 25 kilometers which means not more than 45 minutes of road drive. The Dhalli or Deli  on Parwanoo's northern outskirts (on the Simla highway). It is famous for its meat pickle shops. The Shakti Pickles is the oldest shop selling meat pickles here. This bend of road has many meat pickle shops and vegetable pickles although the latter is more   famous. The tradition of preparing meat pickles has been passed from generation to generation.

The other places not be missed are – Mughal Gardens, Sri Balaji Temple, Gurkha Fort.

Route Plan

Chandigarh is 45 minutes by road which is the only way to reach Parwanoo. The railway station name is Taksal and The Kalka Shimla heritage rail line passes through this town. For visitors coming from Shimla, this the best way to come. Kasauti to Parwanoo is 18 kilometers by road.

Itinerary of the Package

Day 1 – Guest will be picked up Chandigarh by a vehicle.  From Chandigarh airport the drive can almost take 2 hours. From Chandigarh city it can take around 45 minutes. Once in Parwanoo guest can embark either at the Timber Trail Heights resort or at the Moksha  Himalyan resort. Both have exuberance and comfort levels suited for all type of guests.  Apart from this there is the budget hotel  Windsmoor Parwano. Less costly but till very well rated with 5 out of 5  Tourists staying at these hotels can avail of the multi level facilities both Indoor and Outdoor. Just enjoying the hills and green scenery around the hotel can take the entire day. Other places to be visited are – The Mughal Palace, Gurkha Fort, Sri Balaji Temple.

Day 2- Guest can take one of the famous cable car rides. They can go to the Dhalli or Deli  on Parwanoo's northern outskirts (on the Shimla highway). It is famous for its meat pickle shops. Lunch can be had at the famous “Giani da Daba” again on the Shimla Highway. It is very popular for its Chicken Delicacies.

“Gyani da dhaba”

This Restaurant is there in Parwanoo  since 1976 and every visitor has come back with praise for it. The “Gyani da dhaba”  has loyal clients and serves excellent food. The speciality here is the famous Lemon chicken, Chicken tandoori, Various Paranthas and Butter chicken as well as the various chicken curries. The food is good and not very spicy or oily. A must visit for the family. It has become so famous that whole market has evolved around it.
