Upper And Lower Lakes
Raja Bhoj created the Upper Lake in Bhopal in the 11th century while the construction of an earthen dam across the Kolans River. The Upper & Lower Bhopal lakes (also known as Bhoj Wetlands) are urban water bodies. The upper lake is a major source of potable water for the people of the city of Bhopal, Madhya Pradesh, India. The lower lake was constructed much later on the down stream of the dam of Upper lake.
Sair Sapata Bhopal
Sair Sapata is a tourism and entertainment complex situated on the banks of the Upper Lake in Bhopal. Developed by the Madhya Pradesh State Tourism Development Corporation, the most attractions like musical fountain, two acres of children’s play area, toy train and a suspension bridge, among other things.There is also a suspension bridge which connects Prempura and Sewania. This bridge is built along the lines of the Lachman Jhula in Haridwar. It is the main attraction of Sair Sapata. Boat rides can be taken in the lake, in small pedal boats. In addition, there are four food kiosks, a restaurant, three viewpoints, etc.
Laxmi Narayan Temple
The Lakshmi Narayana Temple on the Arera Hills commands a panoramic view of Bhopal, and is also known as the Birla Temple because the Birlas, one of leading industrial families of India, have built it. Attached to the temple is the Birla Museum that houses a collection of sculptures from the Mandsaur, Shahdol, Sehore and Raisen districts of Madhya Pradesh.
Shahpura Lake
Shahpura lake is also one of the gem in Bhopal city. It is lactated near Arera colony. Most visited lake of city because of its unique location and also it lies in middle of the city. Youngsters find it one of the coolest places to hang out. Huge place to have a long walk side of lake.
Manuabhan Tekri
Situated seven kilometers from Bhopal lies this imposing hill which is the highest peak in Bhopal. Here lies "Manuabhan Ki Tekri". The tekri is adorned with the footprints of Jain saints Shri Vijay Surishwar, Shri Jinndutt Surishwar and Acharya Mantung and the idol of Adhishtayak Dev Shrimanbhadra.
Taj-Ul Masjid
The most impressive structure in Bhopal is the Taj-ul-Masjid, one of the largest ad most elegant Muslim mosques in India. The building really presents a spectacular sight and is worth taking a bow to. It’s pink faзade is topped by two huge white-domed minarets pointing upwards to the heavens, as if seeking its blessings.The mosque also has three huge bulbous domes, an impressive main hallway with attractive pillars, marble flooring and a spacious courtyard. Bhimbetka Rock Shelters
The Bhimbetka rock shelters are an archaeological World Heritage site located in Raisen District in the Indian state of Madhya Pradesh.The Rock Shelters of Bhimbetaka (or Bhim Baithaka) lie in the Raisen District of Madhya Pradesh, 45 km south of Bhopal at the southern edge of the Vindhyachal hills.a number of analyses suggest that at least some of these shelters were inhabited by hominids like homo erectus more than 100,000 years ago.Some of the Stone Age rock paintings found among the Bhimbetka rock shelters are approximately 30,000 years old.
