The Mahal is supposed to have been designed by a decadent Frenchman who claimed to be a descendant of the Bourbon Dynasty of France.  The building is very different from the rest of the Islamic architecture in the vicinity.

The lower lake was constructed much later on the down stream of the dam of Upper lake. The Lower Lake, which is also called as the Chota Talaab, is separated from the Upper Lake by an over-bridge. This lovely lake along with the magnificient Upper Lake has given Bhopal its title as the "City of Lakes". 

Moti Masjid - The Moti Masjid was an important landmark of Bhopal, and was built in 1860 by Sikandar Jehan Begum, Qudisiya Begum’s daughter. The mosque has a marble-white façade with two small cupolas atop it, and it has two huge black minarets on either side of it.
