Hyderabad is the capital of the southern Indian state of Telangana, Andhra Pradesh. it has a population of about 6.7 million and a metropolitan population of about 7.75 million, making it the fourth most populous city and sixth most populous urban agglomeration in India. It was ruled by the Mughals, and from the 18th century onwards, by the Asaf Jah dynasty who called themselves the Nizams of Hyderabad. Under these rulers, Hyderabad became one of the richest cities in India and an important centre of art, culture and education.

Mecca MasjidMecca Masjid or Makka Masjid as referred by locals holds a distinct position of not just being the oldest mosques in the city, but is also one of India’s biggest. This 400year old monument was constructed using the soil from Mecca. Visitors will be amazed to know that the soil used in making the bricks for the central arch of the mosque was brought from Mecca (the holiest place in Islam).

Shri Jagannath Temple: Shri Jagannath Temple, a modern day temple built by the local Oriya community over here. This replica of the original in Puri draws devotees with its sanctum sanctorum housing statues of Lord Jagannath, and his siblings Lord Balabhadra and Devi Subhadra.  Shri Jagannath Temple  Hyderabad is dedicated to Lord Krishna, an incarnation of Lord Vishnu. The sanctum sanctorum of the temple, which was constructed in 2009, houses the idols of Lord Jagannath along with his siblings, Balabhadra and Subhadra. There are also shrines dedicated of Lakshmi, Shiva, Ganesh, Hanuman and Navagrahas.

Salar Jung MuseumThe Salar Jung Museum is an art museum located at Darushifa, on the southern bank of the Musi river in the city of Hyderabad, Telangana, India. It is one of the three National Museums of India. he museum is one of the Hyderabad sightseeing places that must be visited. What makes this Salar Jung Museum all the more special is its location. Hussain Sagar LakeHussain Sagar is a heart shaped lake in Hyderabad built by Hazrat Hussain Shah Wali in 1563, during the rule of Ibrahim Quli Qutub Shah. The lake connects two parts of the city (Secunderabad and Hyderabad) to each other. The largest artificial lake in Asia, Hussain Sagar lake was excavated in 1562 AD during the reign of Ibrahim Quli Qutub Shah. Falaknuma Palace:  Falaknuma is a palace in Hyderabad, Telangana, India. It belonged to Paigah Hyderabad State, and it was later owned by the Nizam of Hyderabad One of the highlights of the palace is the state reception room, where the ceiling is decorated with frescoes and gilded reliefs. The ballroom contains a two-ton manually operated organ said to be the only one of its kind in the world.
