1. Respect the Ruler Family of UAE

2. Respecting Islamic Way of life & Religion in UAE

Religious values are always respected in the UAE.Today Expacts of various religions live peacefully in UAE. committing blasphemy or sacrilege against any religion is considered deeply offensive in UAE. Islam is the official religion of the UAE, some simple rules are followed in order to show respect and avoid misunderstandings, states the Code of Conduct.

It is very important to be aware of below rules :-

  • Respect Prophet ( PBUH), The respect should be visible on 360 degrees, e.g When a newspaper contains the name of the Prophet (PBUH), do not use it as wrapping paper or anappropriatly. 
  • When you hear Azaan or the call for local prayer from Mosques, do not disrupt its sound or say any thing in resonance in an obvious way.  
  • Obey Fasting Rules during Ramadan by not eating any thing outside in public.In accordance with the Federal Penal Code of the United Arab Emirates, a public intake of food and beverages during daytime hours of the month of Ramadan is forbidden by Article 313. The article stipulates the punishment in the form of either a monetary penalty — up to 2,000 dirhems ($555) — or even a term of up to one month in prison.  
  • Do not enter into Religious Discussions in UAE. It is not allowed.


 

3. No kissing, no touching Allowed in Dubai

For young Couples, Holding hands may be Just OK, but kissing, Hugging and showing intimate relationship in public is not alowed. Always maintain the respectable distances from women and Girls in Dubai 


 

4. No swearing/making indecent gestures

In the UAE it is forbidden. “No swearing and no indecent gesturing” is the warning in many tourist guidebooks as it has occurred in the past that unaware foreign visitors or residents have been fined or imprisoned for expressing themselves in a way that is not be appreciated in the UAE.In addition, showing the finger, aggressive hand movements are all considered indecent.


 

5. No pictures without permission

Be careful clicking in the crowd, as women and families are sensitive towards the issue. Any person being captured on camera in any public space in the UAE can call the cops and take the photographer to court.

6. No sharing private space with opposite sex

Sharing a private space with opposite sex not related by family ties or marriage is forbidden. Private space would be a house, room, hotel room and even car. However, certain behavior is tolerated such as Call pooling etc . Hotel reservations are not made now a days for unmarried couples, Though there are many cases of single men and women sharing villas, apartments, rooms. How-ever you do not indulge in the same, it sooner or later, law will catch up.


 

7. No indecent clothing

You must always wear decent clothes in shopping malls and public places. Women must wear skirts below the Knees and dress which cover the shoulders. Basically, the idea is to respectfully wear in In public places, guidelines say shorts and skirts need to be of appropriate length not to indecently expose parts of the body, be transparent, or display obscene or offensive pictures and slogans. However On beaches rules are more lenient; swimwear is accepted but should be appropriate. Top-less sunbathing or the wearing of a thong is not allowed.

  • Avoid mini skirts and any other overtly revealing clothing. It is not allowed as per sharia laws.
  • Also Indian Dhoti, Lungi etc are strictly not allowed to be worn in Public Places. UAE locals also wear dhoti but only in their homes. Women wearing Saris are allowed but they need to cover the belly area and neck area fully.


 

8. Alcohol Consumption Laws in UAE


You need permit to drink liquor and always check that you are in a hotel which has license. Alcohol is served only in the restaurants, bars and nightclubs of hotels that have licenses. If you want to consume Alcohol, you must have a permit. However the key thing here is "Not to create a Scene after Drinking or Binging". Normally tourists are tolerated if they drink within confines of Bars or Hotel Rooms, with no Visible nuasances outside. If you be with in limits, you will never face any issue in Dubai.

9. Drunken Driving Laws in Dubai & UAE

Drunken driving is not at all tolerated in Dubai, even very small quantities are not allowed. Dubai has zero policy towards drink and driving. If you do not want to get deported or in prison, do not get on the wheel after drinks. If you had a heavy drinking session in the night, then do not drive even in the morning as Alcohol stays in blood for 24 hours.


 

10. Controlled Medicines and herbs in Dubai & UAE

in your countries, these medicines may be available as over-the-counter medications, but these can be treated and considered illegal or a controlled substance. if you are on medication, then bring your medicines in their original containers and bring a letter from your doctor as a well as a copy of your prescription with you.

10. Abortion is Illegal & Not allowed in UAE
 

Kindly note that Abortion is Illegal in UAE, though there are medicines available over the counter to prevent pregenancy but once pregnancy is confirmed, there is no way to get the abortion done in UAE.It is considered un-islamic in UAE. hence do not aproach pharmacies or hospitals for the same, you might be arrested. some expacts have undergone botched pregency terminations through quacks in UAE, only to be later arrested and deported.

Hence practice always safe sex while in UAE, as you may later end up into problems if you are pregnent. 

However Expacts can visit their Home Country and get the pregnency terminated..


 

11. Having Boy Friends or Girl Friends in UAE

UAE does not allow opposite Sex unions in private space without marriage. hence Sex outside marriage is strictly not allowed and you will end up in jail up to six years or more. Engaged with boyfriend this excuse is also not allowed. 
If you have broken the law, then you will be arrested and taken to police station, questioned and instructed to make a statement. You will not be allowed to access to outside legal or consular help. 


 

12. Hiring Lawers in UAE


 Our First advise is that, Follow the simple Rules written here, you will never fall into a problem. But if you fall into an issue, the hiring of Lawers is a very costly affair.


in UAE, Everything related to law and order is conducted in Arabic and you will be given translation so be intelligent and without understanding the content do not sign the documents.Involved someone who understands both languages. If you are found guilty of serious crime you will end up in an overcrowded prison, where treatment is harsh and you will see the flogging of other prisoners. The legal and judicial system in the United Arab Emirates makes no distinction between nationals and non-nationals," 

13. Zero Tolerence for Drugs in UAE, Read Banned substances before Dubai Travel

In UAE, Drug laws are very strict, though there is no beheading of Drug Smugglers similar to Saudi Arabia. However punishments are harsh. here is one example - British tourist Keith Brown was sentenced to four years in prison after Dubai customs officers found a 0.003g trace of cannabis stuck to his shoe. UK Radio 1 DJ Grooverider was sentenced to four years in Dubai for possession of cannabis. The DJ - real name Raymond Bingham - was arrested at the city's airport on November 23 after flying in for a nightclub gig. Customs officials found 2.16 grams of cannabis in his luggage. 

Some Ignorant Indians who were carrying Indian curry Herb Khas Khas ( Opium seeds), are also checked.
