Day-1 - Chandigarh to Mata Naina Devi Temple Via Anandpur Sahib/Bhakhra Nangal Dam - 1st Devi Darshan
Start journey at around 9 AM after breakfast in Chandigarh and proceed for Anandpur Sahib Ji, Reach Gurudwara Takht Shri Keshgarh Sahib, After Darshans proceed to Mata Naina Devi Temple located at hill top overlooking Anandpur Sahib, which is about about 20 kms from Anandpur Sahib.

Chintpurni Devi Temple - 31.8167°N 76.1333°E - 950 meters
07:00 AM, Start early morning for Chintpurni Devi temple about 50 kms from Una Himachal and Approx 150 kms from Chandigarh. On the way to Chintpurni, stop at Amusement park “Bombay Picnic Spot" where you can enjoy swings, boating and have fun in the park. You can have meals or Snacks also in Bombay picnic Spot.
Reach Chintpurni temple town by 9:00 AM, Our expert guide will park the vehicle nearest to the temple. Walk on your own towards the temple browsing through the numerous souvenir and Prasad shops. Buy the Prasad from govt authorized shop and open you shoes at near by Prasad Shop & enter Chintpurni Devi Mata temple compound.
You are really blessed that you have come today to the darshans of devi mata temple, On the entrance, there is a Huge Brass Bell, which you need to ring in honor of devi mata. Once to enter from the Huge main gate which is Guarded by enormous Loins , the Devi Mata Sanctum sanctorum is right in front of you under an old Banyan Tree.
You enter the Chintpurni mata Sanctum Sanctorum from right and exit from left. Temple is under govt control and if you are lucky, you will get the bhog and Prasad from the pandit ji. You take a circumference of the temple and exit from the Right hand side staircase.
Usually there are lacs of devotees but Darshans do not take much time, and after having darshans of Chintpurni devi mata in Sanctum sanctorum, you proceed to do other activities in the temple like Mundan Ceremony.

Mata Chintpurni Mela is a famous event held Chintpurni Mata Temple in Himachal Pradesh. Chintpurni Mela begins on the first day of Shravan Month (28 July 2016) (Shravan Shukla Paksha) and ends on 10th day of Shravan Month (5 August 2016).It is also popular as Shravan Navaratras festival (Sawan Navratri).
The Chintpurni fair also called ‘Mata Da Mela’ is held in Maata ka darbar in village Chintpurni, the fair is held in Navratris and in Sawan Months during the first ten days of shukla paksha i.e. the bright half of the lunar month. The fair lasts for nine days during the navratras and for ten days in Sawan.
Maximum Crowd for Chintpurni Mela continues day and night but the attendance is highest on its 8th day.

Jwalamukhi temple - 31.88°N 76.32°E - 610 meters
After Darshan at Maa Chintpurni Temple, Proceed for Jwala ji Devi which is about 32 kms from Chintpurni.
Drive to jwala Mukhi temple from Chintpurni Devi is very scenic Drive and winding road is wide enough. On both side is the lush green forest and valleys.
Enroute to Jwalamukhi Temple, you can have Lunch at Dhaliara at Famous Road Side Dhabas, which offer full meals including Tandoori Roti, Dal, sabjee, rice , snacks-samosa and pakoda, tea, cold drinks, and simple Indian food during meal time. Long distance buses stop here for food. or at Dehra Gopipur , If you are looking for quality restaurant enroute Jwalamukhi devi, Just before the mighty Baes river Bridge there is a famous “river side resort” restaurant. From this restaurant, you can have panoramic views of the river and hills.
Next you cross Dehra Gopipur and Ranital and you Reach Jwala ji Devi in One hour time.
You will be dropped at approx. half km from the main Temple, No vehicles are allowed on this road, on both sides you will see Prasad shops and souvenir shops. The steps to the temple will arrive in 10 minutes, There about 20 steps to climb to reach the Jwala Mukhi Temple Compound. The views of the surrounding hills and valleys are great from the temple. There is always 24X7 langar happening inside the temple.
Once inside the temple, proceed to Sanctum sanctorum and have blessed darshans of Holy Jwala Flames. Sanctum Sanctorum of temple has actually a square central pit of hollowed stone inside where the main flames burns endlessly.
The Jwalamukhi Temple had an associated library of ancient Hindu texts, many of which were translated from Sanskrit into Persian at the orders of Firuz Shah Tughlaq
Just a few feet above the Jwalamukhi temple there is a six-feet deep pit with a circumference of about three-feet. At the bottom of this pit there is another small pit about one and a half feet deep with hot water bubbling all the time.
After Devi Mata’s darshan, proceed to see Blackened Akbar’s chatra, The Mughal Emperor Akbar, tried to douse the flames with a stream of water. However, the great power of the Goddess, still kept the flames burning. Realizing the power of Jwala Devi, Akbar came with his army to this temple. He brought a Gold umbrella (Chatra) for the Goddess, but on offering, the umbrella turned into an unknown metal suggesting that the Goddess did not accept his offering.
Maharaja Ranjit Singh paid a visit to the temple in 1815 and the dome of the temple was gold-plated by him.
In Jwalamukhi temple, Sati Mata's tongue fell . The flames/ Jyotis are the representation of the same. Jwalaji (flame) or Jwala Mukhi (flame mouth) is probably the most ancient temple in North India similar to Vaishno Devi. It is also mentioned in the Mahabharata and other scriptures.

After Darshan at Jwala ji Devi, proceed for Kangra Devi Ji also known as Brajeshwari –Vrajeshvari Devi, which is about 40 Km from Jawala Ji Temple.
Kangra Devi is known as Nagarkot devi temple or "Trigarta" , it finds its mention in the ancient hindu scripters. The temple of Devi Vajreshwari is one of the oldest and wealthiest in northern India. Mahmud of Ghazni looted the Kangra temples and took away a vast treasure. In 1360 Kangra temple was again looted by Feroz Shah Tughluq.
Kangra Devi Temple main architecture has three tombs and is surrounded by stone wall in a fort like structure. The main entrance gate has a drum house which is also known as Nagarkhana.
Inside the main sanctum sanctorum , temple goddess Brajeshwari is worshipped in the form of pindi. Surrounding the main temple are other temples where other gods are worshipped like Bhairav temple. People say that whenever the town is in trouble the idol of Bhairav god gets sweat. Dhyanu Bhagat’s idol is also there, Dhyanu bhagat had offered his head to the Kangra Devi. Have Darshan at the Kangra Devi Temple.After Darshan,visit the famous Kangra Fort if time permits.

6th Devi Darshan -
After early breakfast in Kangra , leave for Chamunda Devi temple at 09:00 AM. Chamunda devi temple is located only at 24 kms further on Palampur Road. Reach Chamunda Devi Temple at 10:00 AM. Enjoy the scenic route towards the temple .Reach Temple in one hour’s time.
Our Himachal Devi Darshan Ends Here, Now we have option to either return back to Chandigarh or Proceed for Maa vaishno Devi Darshan.
Chamunda Devi temple is also known as Chamunda Nandikeshwar Dham. At the back of the temple is a cave-like scoop where a stone "Lingam" under a boulder represents Nandikeshwar (Shiva). The temple complex is an enchanting spot with glorious view of Mighty Dhauladhar ranges, the Baner Khad and Dadh. A water pool in side the temple complex , houses the statues of Lord Shiva and Saraswati.
In the temple complex, there is a huge pond with images of Lords and people can take bath here. The temple is situated in the picturesque beauty of lush green mountains. Many saints can be seen here involved in penance and meditation. There is a story behind the establishment of this temple.
Pray at the temple and spend next one hour in the temple, adjoining market and surroundings.

From Chamunda temple, Trekkers also visit Himani Chamunda temple ( the original Chamunda temple), there is a trek of about 16 km up in the Dhauladhar ranges overlooking Triund is the ancient temple of Aadi Himani Chamunda. In the past days, This was the original Chamunda temple and present site of the temple. As The site was found to be in a remote area, where it was not possible for everyone to reach, hence temple was relocated to present location.
Trek to Himani Chamunda, starts from Jia village near by , There is also a Shiva temple and a small Hanuman temple at the top. Temple remains closed for 4 months from 15th Nov to march 15th due to heavy snowfall on the ranges. Aarti is performed 2 times a day in the morning and evening.
Option-1 - Proceed to Maa Vaishno Devi from Chamunda mata via Pathankot - Jammu ( Reach Katra by late evening & Night Stay in katra)
Option 2 - Return Back to Chandigarh from Chamunda mata ( Reach Chandigarh by late evening and End of the Tour)
After waking up in Katra, Procced to Maa vaishno devi darshan ( either by Trek or by Helicopter). if you are going by Helicopter, You will be dropped in Sanjhi Chat and proceed to Devi Mata darshan on foot 2 kms away, otherwise trek to Maa vaishno devi , it will take approx 8 hours to do 13 hours trek to Maa vaishno devi. Reach Maa vaishno devi Bhawan by late evening, nigh Stay in Devi Mata Vaishno Devi Bhawan and in the morning proceed for Bharon mandir. Return to Katra by late evening & proceed for return Journey.
Darshan of Ma Vaishno Devi : The Holy Bhawan houses the main holy cave which is the main destination of devotees. Situated in Trikuta Parvat (Hill) at around 5200 feet height from sea level, The Holy Bhawan, is the main centre of pooja and darshan for the devotees. It is also the key location in the entire Yatra route. Hence, adequate arrangements and facilities have been created by the Shrine Board for the convenience of the devotees. These include free & rented accommodation; Toilet Blocks; Bhojanalayas; Post Office; Banks; Communication (STD/PCO); Announcement Centres; Blanket Stores; Cloak Rooms; Medical Dispensary (with a ICU); General Stores; Bhaint Shops; Police Station, etc.

Before entering the holy Vaishno Devi mata cave you may take bath at Charan Ganga water which is at the end of bazard and just before the Main Bhawan.
There are two caves for Maa vaishno Devi ji
one orginal which is little difficult and not open at all times. there are fixed days of opening and Darshan through this cave. You cannot stand in this cave, water touches the feet and at some places it is quite narrow.
The other passage is artificial passage for Darshan. It is around 18 meters. Genrally Darshans are allowed from the new cave which is convenient.
After the end of cave you get the Darshan of Ma Vaishno Devi in the shape of 3 Pindies of Maha Laxmi, Maha Saraswati and Maha Kali. You can have Darshan of Ma Vashno Devi in the form of Pindies, inside the Holy Cave.
At the extreme left is the Pindi of Goddess Saraswati with white shade. In the center is the Pindi of Goddess Lakshmi, with a yellow-reddish tinge and to the right is the Pindi of Goddess Kali, with a color black shade.
If you prefer to have Darshan through the old cave, it is somewhat difficult. The main door is quite narrow. Go ahead slowly. The holy cool water of Charanganga touches your feet. On the left side you can view a natural Shila Khand. The first 5 pindies are of Pandavas, thereafter seven pindies are of Sapt Rishies and just after it there is a natural Pillar which is called Tapt Stambh of Prahlad. Move ahead and you will see natural look of a lion and its Panja.
Before the new cave door you can see a natural statue of Sheshnag on the roof of cave. Sheshnag akriti and a number of small snakes are amazing.
After Darshan you must visit Bhairo Temple which is at a distance of about 1.5 kms on hills. This route can also be covered by hiring horses. If you are visiting first time, it is said that Yatra is complete only when you visit Bhairo Temple.
