Shopping in Zanzibar
    
The shops in the main market areas of Kiponda Street, Market Street, Malindi Street, Darajani and Mchangani Streets are still full of electronics, cosmetics, textiles, hardware and jewellery from Thailand, Singapore, Malaysia and Dubai. Stone Town has shops that sell antiques and souvenirs for tourists like woodcarvings, pottery and paintings. The famous spices of Zanzibar are available everywhere but the best place to but them is on Kiponda Street. Whatever else you buy, don’t buy shells, corals, animals and animal byproducts that endanger the environment and destroy entire species.
