By Train
There is no railway station in Yelagiri
The closest rail head to Yelagiri is Jolarpettai Junction. It is about 21 km away from Yelagiri. Trains coming from Chennai, Bangalore and Coimbatore stop here. Cabs are easily available from Jolarpettai to Yelagiri. The fare would come up to Rs 500 approximately.

By Road
You can both take a bus or drive down to Yelagiri. Yelagiri is well connected by Road from Ponneri. Regular bus services are available from cities like Tiruoathur, Bangalore, Chennai, Krishnagiri and Vanayambadi. You can also drive down from Bangalore, Chennai and Coimbatore. From Bangalore, you have to take the NH 7 towards Krishnagiri, from Chennai you will have to take the NH 4 and head towards Vellore and from Coimbatore you can take the NH 47 to Salem and then arrive at Krishnagiri.

Best Season / Best time to visit Yelagiri
Yelagiri has a moderate climate all through the year. During summers (March to June) temperature varies from 18°C to 34°C. Winters (November to February) are cool and temperature ranges from 11°C to 25°C. Monsoons (July to September) receives an average rainfall. 
Pongal (January) and Deepavali during October are two important festivals celebrated with much gaiety and enthusiasm. Summer festival for three days in the month of May is very attractive and during this period tourists flock to this place. 
Best season to visit Yelagiri is from November to February.

Jalagamparai Falls, Yelagiri    

Jalagamparai waterfalls stay to be in the valley region downhill and are at little distance away from the Yeligiri. It's a beautiful place to be there and the experience is worth remembering. Waterfall's view is best in the days of November to February as they are fully loaded with water but the waterfall is little dry in the times of summers. These days the flow of water in the waterfall is considerably reduced as compared to recent past years, but still its scenic beauty has always been appreciated and liked by most of the tourists visiting the place and they have a great time there.

Punganoor Lake, Yelagiri

The periphery of the lake is around 57 sq meters and is a best place for boating and rowing.

Swami malai hills are the hills in the form of cake with a strong base at the bottom and high peak of the hills just tend to touch the sky. The highest of its peak is about 4338 meters from the ground level and people love climbing the great heights at a stretch. 
There are several other peaks in the neighbourhood like Javadi hills, Pallamathi hills and the like which are easier to climb and thereby enjoy the beauty of the nature from a distance.
