Day: 01 Delhi to Mussoorie (Approx 320.0 kilometers/ 8 Hours)

Depart for Mussoorie early in the morning and your pick-up point will be Shivaji Stadium Metro near Connaught Place. The route takes you through the cities of Meerut, Muzaffarnagar and Dehradun from where it is less than an hour's drive to Mussoorie- the queen of the hills. For lunch, you can choose from one of the numerous Dhabas en route (payable on your own). On arrival, check-in to the hotel and spend the evening at leisure. Stay overnight at the hotel.

 

Day: 02 Mussoorie Site Seeing

After breakfast, the day will be spent doing local sightseeing in and around Mussoorie like the Kempty falls, Camel back Road, Lal Tibba and Gun Hill. Spend the evening at leisure and stay overnight at the hotel.

 

Day: 0 3 Mussoorie shopping

After breakfast, you can choose to explore the Mall road, the Picture Palace Road. Check out various eateries and /or shops located on the famous Mall Road. Spend the evening at leisure. Stay overnight at the hotel.

 

Day 04: Mussoorie – Delhi

In the morning, after breakfast, check -out from the hotel and leave for Delhi. On arriving at the airport/railway station, continue your onward journey.

By Air:

Jolly Grant Airport is the nearest Airport to Mussoorie. It is situated 60kms from Mussoorie with well metalled roads. Taxis are easily available from Jolly Grant Airport to Mussoorie. Jolly Grant Airport is well connected to Delhi with daily flights.


By Railway:

The nearest railway station to Mussoorie is Dehradun Railway station. Dehradun is well connected by trains from major cities of India. There are two trains that run daily between Delhi to Dehradun and vice-versa. Mussoorie is located 36kms from Dehradun Railway Station. Shatabdi Express and Mussoorie Express are the two major trains connecting Dehradun with major cities of India. Taxis and Buses are asily available from Dehradun to Mussoorie.


By Road:

Mussoorie is well connected with motorable roads. Luxury and normal Buses to Mussoorie are easily available from ISBT Kashmiri Gate. Buses and Taxis to Mussoorie are also available from major destinations of Uttarakhand state like Dehradun, Rishikesh, Haridwar and Tehri, etc.

 

Kempty falls:

Kempty Falls is popular among the tourists who visit Mussoorie and this cascading waterfall has successfully lured tourists from the very beginning. Kempty Falls is located 15kms from Mussoorie on the Chakrata road surrounded by high green mountains and is set at an altitude of 4500ft. The fall offers astonishing view of scattered drops of water falling from the height of 40ft and the waterfall splits into five streams .

 

 


Bhadraj Temple:

It is situated at a distance of 15kms from Mussoorie and is an ideal place for trekking. Bhadraj Temple is located on the extreme western region of Mussoorie and thus offers a splendid view of the Doon Valley, Chakrata ranges and the Jaunsar Bawar area of Garhwal Himalayas. The temple is dedicated to Lord Bal Bhadra, brother of Lord Krishna, and is situated atop a hill. Bhadraj temple organizes a fair in the third week of August (Shravan Sankranti) every year. 

 


Dhanaulti:

Dhanaulti is situated 25kms from Mussoorie amidst thick alpine forests of deodar, rhododendron and oak and it offers an atmosphere of perfect peace & tranquility. Dhanaulti often brings surprise for the tourists as the beauty of Dhanaulti is yet to be explored and is less popular amongst people. The woods, cool environment, scenic valleys, lovely weather and enchanting view of snow capped peaks of majestic Himalayan range makes it an ideal retreat for a relaxed holiday. 


Nag Tibba:

Nag Tibba is a located around 55 km from Mussoorie. Nag Tibba falls just a few ft shorts from the breathtaking height of 10,000ft. It is the highest peak around the hill resort which is covered by thick alpine forests. It is an ideal spot for trekkers who are in love with nature and its divine beauty and it is also opened for trekkers throughout the year. 


Dehradun:

The city of Dehradun is the capital of Uttaranchal and the headquarters of Dehradun district. Dehradun is surrounded by the Himalayas in the north, the Shivalk Hills to the south, the Yamuna to the west and the Ganga to the east. Dehradun is the gateway to the famous hill station of Mussoorie and the pilgrimage spots of Haridwar and Rishikesh.  It is situated 35kms from Mussoorie. 

 


Rishikesh:

Rishikesh is an ideal spot for white water rafting and camping on the river beach. Rishikesh comer under the shivalik range of the Himalayas and the place is also the home of numerous temples. It is one of the busiest places of Uttarakhand where lakhs of tourists visit every month throughout the year. Rishikesh is situated 89kms from Mussoorie.

 


Haridwar:

 

 

Haridwar is situated at an altitude of 295mts above sea level on the banks of the sacred Ganga River. It is the gateway to the Char Dhams of Hindus situated in Uttarakhand, namely Badrinath, Kedarnath, Gangotri, Yamunotri. Haridwar is also written as Hardwar. The meaning of Haridwar in hindi language means Dwar of Hari or Gateway to God where 'Hari' means god and 'dwar' means gate. Haridwar is visited by lakhs of devotees every month to take a sacred dip in the holy water of Ganga River.

 

Shopping in Mussoorie :

 

 

The main shopping areas in Mussoorie are the Library, Kulri Bazaar and Landour Bazaar that sell curios, ethnic jewellery, as well as antiques. Beyond Kulri Bazaar a road goes 5 kms up to the old cantonment area of Landour. Shops in the market sell Raj memorabilia, silver jewellery and books. You can pick up beautifully handcrafted walking sticks among other things from shops on the Mall. Just below the mall Road is a Tibetan market where one can buy sleeping bags, windcheaters, sweaters and shawls at very reasonable prices.
