The Kodava or Coorg language the term Kodava has two related usages. Firstly, it is the name of the Kodava language and culture followed by a number of communities from Kodagu. it describes the dominant Kodava people. People of all religion dominate the region of Madikeri and the major language is Kodava Takk, Kannada, Hindi and English. Usually the men wear wraparound robes known as the Kupya and the women wear sari with the back pleats. The people are quite hospitable and are skilled agriculturists.
