Day 1: Gwalior- Shivpuri
Depart for Gwalior today and on arrival visit Gwalior Fort, Man Mandir,Teli ka Mandir, Tombs of Tansen and Ghous Mohammed, Jai Vilas Palace Museum and Sun Temple. In the evening drive to hotel in Shivpuri for overnight stay.

 

Day 2: Shivpuri- Orchha
At Shivpuri go for sightseeing and later visit the chhatris or cenotaphs. Enjoy visit to local Tourist Village and then leave for Orchha, where you arrive at a hotel for overnight stay.

 

Day 3: Orchha- Jhansi- Delhi
Today in Orchha, visit 16th and 17th century temples. Afterwards leave for Jhansi to visit the historic Fort connected with Rani Laxmibai. Later leave for Delhi to conclude the journey

Best Season / Best time to visit Jhansi
Jhansi experiences extreme climates.Summers (April to June) have hot sun with temperatures keeping at a high level of 34°C to 47°C. Government Museum
    One of the daunting sights to be visited in Jhansi is the State Museum, which is established in the year 1978. Its pictorial location and vast collection of artifacts gained it accolades from the people from all walks of life. This museum showcases superb compilations of various artifacts belonged to the Chandela rulers. 
It encompasses weapons, terracotta and bronze sculptures, manuscripts, paintings, gold, silver and copper coins. A picture arcade exhibiting the glorious history of the Guptas is the major attraction. The museum would be closed on all Mondays and second Saturdays. A visit to this museum would familiarize you with the rich cultural and historical aspects of a great city.

 Jhansi Fort

Built in the year 1613 by Raja Bir Singh Deo, Jhansi fort is acclaimed with the accolade of a most strategically place bastions in the central part of India. Situated on a rocky summit, it commands the overall view of the city and the plains. The fort extends to a sprawling expansion of 15 acres and this colossal structure measures about 312m in length and 225m in width. Apart from that the fort has four entrances and ten gates. On the whole, there are twenty-two supports with a mammoth strengthening wall cosseted by a moat on both sides. The shattered upholder on the eastern side was rebuild by the British, who also supplemented a floor to Panch Mahal. Mainly divided in to three parts the fort contains so many ancient configurations. The most important constructions inside the fort are Ganesh Mandir, Baradari, Bhawani Shankar, Shahar Darwaza, Grave of Gulam Gaus Khan, Kadak bijali, Siva temple, Execution tower, Kal kothari and Panch Mahal. A living testimonial to the valor and heroism of Rani Lakshmi Bhai, the Jhansi fort offers an excellent insight into the life and bravery of a great ruler.

Maharaja Gangadhar Rao ki Chathri

A symbol of divine love and affection, the Chathri of Maharaja Gangadhar Rao allures the tourist with its unique charm. Situated in the Lakshmi Tal, this chathri was constructed by Rani Lakshmi Bai in memory of her beloved husband Gangadhar Rao. Though built in the year 1853, this glorious cenotaph of the erstwhile king of Jhansi withstood the trappings of time. The carvings on the twelve pillars and the curved roof supporters show the artistic magnificence of early nineteenth century. Its elegant appeal attracts large gathering and now a days this monument has become one of the favourite hot spot of the tourists in Jhansi.

 Rani Mahal

A former palace, now converted in to a museum, Rani Mahal boast of a rich history that arise the patriotic feeling of every Indian. Its highly decorated walls with exquisite paintings arrest the vision of the onlooker. The museum also has an extensive compilation of sculptures and paintings of 9th and 12th centuries. Once served as the abode of Rani Lakshmi Bai, the palace is a double storied structure with flat roofs, arched chambers and open courtyards. This beautiful edifice of a past legacy encompasses six halls, with parallel verandas. The palace had witnessed one of the fierce battles of the freedom struggle in which 50 body guards of Rani were killed by the English Army. Apart from the Museum, Durbar Hall in the second floor is the only spot worthy for a watch. The ruthless British army demolished all other magnificient builds.

Barua Sagar
Located on the banks of Betwa River, Barua Sagar offers a delightful time to the visitors with its magnificient sceneries. This locale got its name from the beautiful lake Barua Sagar Tal, which is constructed by Raja Udit Singh. Another fascinating attraction is the famous bastion of Bundelkhand whose strategic location on the top of a hill protected the town from the besieging troops of the enemies. Made up of sandstone, this citadel houses the panoramic view of the reservoir of the Betwa Dam. Though in ruins this amazing citadel holds the attention of the visitors and it holds a large turn out of tourists all round the year. 
Apart from its lovely surroundings, Barua Sagar is renowned as a famous holy spot since it holds the beautiful shrine dedicated to Durga. The temple that is popularly called as Jarai-ka-math dates back to 860 AD, and is a typical example of Pratihara architecture. The main shrine is surrounded by four smaller shrines on four corners and the wall of the shrines are embellished by erotic sculptures. In 1928, the ASI had enlisted the temple in the list of protected monuments.

Jhansi Mahaotsav
