Biligiriranga Hills
The Biligirirangana Hills commonly called B R Hills, is a hill range situated in south-eastern Karnataka, at its border with Tamil Nadu (Erode District) in South India. the place is home to diverse flora and fauna, a wildlife sanctuary and a temple dedicated to Lord Vishnu. The drive up to the hills is scenic and takes about 20 minutes from the base. Come here for great views, peace, calm and the balmy mountain air.
Mudumalai National Park
About 20 kms from Bandipur and nestled in the Nilgiris, this sanctuary is home to many endangered animals and has about 266 bird species. Some rare birds like the Rufous bellied hawk eagle can occasionally be spotted in this sanctuary. With around 48 tigers, Mudumalai has the highest tiger population density in the country. The Mudumalai Sanctuary is an important wildlife habitat due to its strategic position as a Wildlife corridor between several other protected areas making an essential part of the Nilgiri Biosphere Reserve. Its north is being crusted with Bandipur National Park and Nagarhole National Park and at its west is the Wayanad Wildlife Sanctuary along the south corner is flourished with Mukurthi National Park and Silent Valley National Park.
Ooty: Ooty, is also known as "Udhagamandalam". It’s been rightly titled as the as Queen of Hills. Ooty, the headquarters of The Nilgiris district is one of the famous hill stations in India.
Ooty is situated in the Nilgiri hills, also known as The Blue Mountains. It is unknown whether this name comes from the blue smoky haze given off by the eucalyputus trees that cover the area, or because of the kurunji flower, which blooms every twelve years giving the slopes a bluish tinge.
Nagarhole: Nagarhole National Park is a national park located in Kodagu district and Mysore district in state of Karnataka India. The park has been recently renamed as Rajiv Gandhi National Park after the late Prime Minister of India. It also hosts a variety of animal species along with approximately 250 species of birds. On its northern confines is the Kabini River and on its southern fringes is the Bandipur national park. The park has rich forest cover, small streams, hills, valleys and waterfalls. The park has a healthy predator-prey ratio, with many tigers, Indian bison and elephants.
