Shimla Tourism: Itinerary

Day 01: Delhi-Kotgarh(Arround 430 km/9-10 hours)

Start the tour from Delhi Airport/Railway Station and the proceed to Kotgarh. It is around 430 km and takes 9-10 hours to complete journey. The journey is too long so we will break journey at Chandigarh. Have lunch and some rest there. After arrival check into Hotel and overnight at hotel.

Day 01: Food

Day 02: Kotgarh local Sightseeing

After breakfast Proceed to visit Kotgarh. Kotgarh is famous not only for its Scenic beauty but also for its apple farming. Kotgarh is also known as Apple Bowl of india. You can visit some local sightseeing of kotgarh like St. Mary Church and Mailan Devta Temple. After that came back to hotel and overnight at hotel.

St. Mary Church: This is one of the oldest Church in India. It is between middle of thwe Town. This Church was constructed in 1872. St Mary Church is very beautiful wooden church. The Church is filled with Mature Shurbs and apple trees in its backyard.

Mailan Devta Temple ( Chatur Mukh): The another famous place to visit in Kotgarh is Mailan devta Temple. The Deota is believed to be one of the most powerfull god in these hills. The Deota had only one eye, so he was also called kana. He delighted in human sacrifice, and every month on the Shankrant day a man or woman was sacrificed to him as a bali. Every family supplied victims by turn.

Kamaksha Devi Temple: The temple of Kamaksha Devi (Goddess) is situated in district Mandi near Karsog valley at village Kao. The temple looks very attarctive and beautiful having some great pieces of wooden art which is rarely found build by local villagers.. Mamleshwar Temple: The another famous Temple in Karsog is Mamleshwar  Mahadev Temple, and is believed to have been constructed by the Pandava. The main deity of the temple is Lord Shiva, whose idol has been carved out of a stone. This shrine has carved wooden pillars with artistic woodwork. It is famous for a drum that measures 6 ft in length and a single grain of wheat which weighs around 250 grams.
 
Shikari Devi Temple: The other famous place of worship in karsog is shikari Devi Temple. The Shikari Devi Temple is situated at the Height of 2850 meters. It is somehow difficult to trek to Temple. Captivating sunrise and sunset from the temple is soul stirring. According to mythus there is no snowfall at the top of the Temple and snow never stay there.

Chaini Fort Trek and Sharingi Bagi Temple Trek: The Most famous attraction of this place is Chaini fort trek and Sharingi Bagi temple. Jalori Pass: Jalori pass has steepest drive which covers more than 2000 meters in 25 kms, it connects Shimla and Kullu valleys and offers fantastic views of the Dhauladhar and Kinnaur ranges. Spend half an hour at Jalori pass.

Hatkeshwari Mata Temple: This is one of The religious place in Hatkoti. This Temple is situated on the river Pabbar and is dedicated to goddess Hatkeshwari. Seolsar lake: Trek to Seolsar Lake which is about 5 km trek from Jalori Pass, Walk to Seolsar Lake through forests full of oak, blue pine, spruce, fir and Deodar. At one point you come on to a ridge from where you can see the Inner Seraj valley beyond at one end, and the Outer Seraj at the other. 

Sunpuri Hills Hatkoti: Sunpuri hills situated in Hatkoti valley. it s also known as Ardhnarishwar. The site has a beautiful temple dedicated to Mahishasurmardini and the idol has been built out of the stone. It is believed that Sunpuri hills are constructed by Pandavas.

Mailan Devta Temple ( Chatur Mukh): The another famous place to visit in Kotgarh is Mailan devta Temple. The Deota is believed to be one of the most powerfull god in these hills. The Deota had only one eye, so he was also called kana. He delighted in human sacrifice, and every month on the Shankrant day a man or woman was sacrificed to him as a bali. Kamaksha Devi Temple: The temple of Kamaksha Devi (Goddess) is situated in district Mandi near Karsog valley at village Kao. Mamleshwar Temple: The another famous Temple in Karsog is Mamleshwar  Mahadev Temple, and is believed to have been constructed by the Pandava . The main deity of the temple is Lord Shiva, whose idol has been carved out of a stone. This shrine has carved wooden pillars with artistic woodwork. It is famous for a drum that measures 6 ft in length and a single grain of wheat which weighs around 250 grams.
 
Shikari Devi Temple:The other famous place of worship in karsog is shikari Devi Temple.The Shikari Devi Temple is situated at the Height of 2850 meters.It is somehow difficult to trek to Temple.Captivating sunrise and sunset from the temple is soul stirring.According to mythus there is no snowfall at the top of the Temple and snow never stay there.
