This volcanic platue is Asia’s second longest mountain plateau after tibetan platue  it is a vast expanse of flat laterite rock surrounded by hills. Some of these lead to trap doors that open to a 100 meter fall. It is one of the destinations of Mahabaleshwar where a lot of tourists visit every year. It is a must see place for history lovers and photographers because of its abundant scenic beauty as well as historical background.

the Lingmala Waterfall can be reached via the Mahabaleshwar-Pune road. The forest bungalow of Lingmala is situated near the falls. The water here launches from a height of approximately 600 feet.

 

Lodwick Point is a vantage point, which is situated about 5 km west of Mahabaleshwar. Originally known as Sydney Point, this point was rechristened in the honour of General Lodwick, who was the first British officer to climb the hill.

The place has a large open space, which incorporates a bandstand. This point is an ideal picnic spot and is one of the oldest vantage points in Mahabaleshwar. To the left Bombay Point, lies the lover’s point of Mahabaleshwar.  

Connaught Peak Mahabaleshwar is perched at an elevation of 1400 m above the sea level, which makes this the second highest peak in the hill station. . The second highest peak in Mahabaleshwar, it offers trekkers great views and thrilling adventures.
