About - Ahmedabad or Ahmadabad is the sixth largest city in India and is a popular tourist destination as it is a center of handicrafts and heritage sites. Ahmedabad is the commercial hub of Gujrat. This city was earlier known as Karnavati named after King Karandev 1 and was later changed to Ahmedabad when Sultan Ahmed Shah took over.

Dwarka is located on the shore of Arabian Sea and is one of the four most visited Krishna Pilgrimages in the country. What to eat

Day 1 – Arrival in Ahmedabad – Night Journey to Dwarka (452km/7h)

Our representative will pick you up from the airport/railway station and transfer you to the hotel. From here we will go for half day sightseeing depending upon your arrival timings and will have late night dinner at Manek Chowk after which we check out from the hotel and leave for Dwarka by Air Conditioned Luxury Volvo bus for overnight journey.

 

Day 2 – Arrival in Dwarka

We arrive Dwarka early morning and check in the hotel, later we visit Nageshwar Jyotirling temple that is 8 km from Dwarka followed by Gopi Talav where it is believed that Sri Krishna used to perform raas leela from here we take a boat and reach the holy Island of Bet Dwarka. On return we take a stop at Rukmani temple and end the day with attending aarti at Dwarkadheesh temple. Overnight stay and dinner at hotel.

 

Places to visit in Dwarka

Dwarkadhish temple - The temple is more than 5000 years old and is considered as one of the Char dhams. It is situated on bank of Gomti ghat and is visited by millions of pilgrims to seek blessings in the temple.

Rukshamanee Temple - it is believed that journey to Dwarka is incomplete without darshan at this temple. Her temple is away from main temple because a curse from Rishi Durvasa.

Dwarka Lighthouse - Dwarka Lighthouse is located at Rupen Creek. This lighthouse was constructed in 1886. This tower was rebuilt in 1960 that is around 43 metres high.

Nageshwara Jyotirlinga Temple-  This temple is also known as the Nagnath temple and is situated in the outskirts of Dwarka. It's one of the 12 Jyotirlingas mentioned in the Shiva Purana.

Bet Dwarka - Beyt Dwarka is an island located around 30 km from Dwarka.The main temple is over 500 years old. The island is enclosed by a few temples, white sand beach and coral reefs. 

Gomati Sangam Ghat – There are many ghats on the river Gomati but the most important one is the one where the river meets the ocean is known as the Gomati Sangam.

Gita Mandir – This temple was built in 1970 buy the industrialist family of Birla. The temple is built using marble and protects the values and teachings of 'Bhagavad Gita'.

 

Day 3 -Dwarka Sightseeing – Departure for Vadodara (496 km/8h)

Spend the day visiting the many temples and holy sites like Gayatri Shakti Peeth, Geeta mandir, Siddeshwar Mahadev, Bhadrakali temple, Bhadkeshwar temple etc that we will be visiting today, later we will go to Panchtirth ling which is on the other side of Gomti river and consists of 5 small wells. Water of each well has different taste.The day will end at light house near by sea beach. Later we will check out from hotel and leave for Vadodara by bus.

 

Day 4 –Arrival in Vadodara

We reach Vadodara early morning and proceed for check in to hotel. After breakfast we leave for local sightseeing starting from Surya Mandir and later will visit different attractions of the city such as Sayaji Garden, Dakshinmoorthy temple followed by a visit to Pavagarh and Champaner located on a distance from the main city. We will return to hotel for overnight and dinner.

Sayaji Garden: This is the oldest and largest garden of Vadodara which is spread over 13 acres and includes Vadodara Museum, Art Gallery, the Sardar Patel Planetarium, a toy train and a Health Museum.

Laxmi Vilas Palace: This royal architectural site lays 6 kms from the hotel. It is a beautiful palace built in Indo-sarcanenic style of architecture and finished in marble, mosaic, fine stone, glass and wood.

Department of Archaeology: This place is of a popular tourist attraction and is famous for unique collection of Buddhist antiques.

Dakshinamoorty Temple: This temple dedicated to Lord Shiva is made of aluminum and other alloys.

Palace Museum: The original paintings by Raja Ravi Verma along with European oil paintings and Greek, Roman sculptures are here in this museum.

Aurobindo Society: This international monument of Shri Aurobindo is open to the public for meditation.

Pavagadh: This place is around 40 kms from Vadodara, There is a temple made on the hills and famous for its scenic beauty. It has a ropeway to reach Kalika Mata's temple at the top.

Champaner: This is a historical town on the foothills of Pavagadh and has the ruins of ancient Mosques.

 

Day 5 – Vadodara – Rajkot (275km/5h)

We check out from hotel early morning and drive to Rajkot. Upon reaching we check in to hotel and later visit Swaminarayan temple and Ramkrishna Ashram. We will proceed for Mahatma Gandhi’s childhood home at Kaba Gandhi No Delo and later to Rashtriya Shala. We will later return to hotel for overnight stay and dinner.

 

Day 6 –Rajkot – Palitana – Ahmedabad (Rajkot to Palitana 161 km/2.30h + Rajkot to Ahmedabad 215 km/3.5h)

We leave from hotel early morning and drive towards Palitana in Jamnagar district. This place is famous for a number of temples of belonging to Jain religion and significance that was previously known as Padliptapur, today this place is of greatest importance for Jain community. There are 900 temples big and small on the two hills. It is said all the Jain Tirthankars, excepting Neminath, had attained nirvan on Shatrunjay Hill. This fact adds to the veneration the devout have for the place.

We return to Rajkot and drive to Ahmedabad. En route we will visit Ranchodrai ji Temple at Dakor that is on a distance of 225 km and takes approx. 4 hours to reach. From here we continue to Ahmedabad and check in to hotel for overnight stay and dinner.

 

Day 7 – Half day Ahmedabad Sightseeing.

We leave hotel early in the morning and visit places like Old Ahmedabad starting from Kalupur Swaminarayan temple, Sidi Saiyyad Mosque and finally at Manek Chowk market. From here we move to  Sarkhez Roza, Sabarmati Ashram and finally end our day at Akshardham Temple in Gandhinagar nearby after which we return to hotel for check out. From here our staff will drop you to Airport/Railway station and your magical Gujrat trip will end.
