Kamalabari Satra: One of the other famous sites of the island, Kamalabari Satra, this religious site too houses significant articles related to art, culture, literature and classical studies. The finest boats on the island are made here. Its branch, Uttar Kamalabari Satra, has showcased the Satria Art in several states of India and abroad.

Dakhinpat Satra: Dakhinpat Satra is a well-known Xatra  on Majuli island in the Brahmaputra River, in the Indian state of Assam established by Vamshigopal disciple Satradhikar Sri Vanamalidev in 1584. He was honoured and treated with much respect by the reigning Ahom monarch Jayadhvaj Singh who made liberal gifts to the Xatra.  This ancient educational centre is visited by thousand of devotees all throughout the year. Rasotsava, a prime festival of Assam, is celebrated with great enthusiasm and passion here.

Garmur: Garmur Satra village is located in Majuli Tehsil of Jorhat district in Assam, India. It is situated 23km away from district headquarter Majuli. Majuli is the sub-district headquarters of Garmur Satra village. Garmur is considered as a holy place which preserves ancient artifacts and articles, Bortop being the most prominent among these.

Tengapania: The temple is located near the river Brahmaputra and is known to be a very popular picnic spot. The area is green and on a sunny day, it is the perfect place to hang out near the water and take in the serenity of the golden building.

Shivadol:  Shivadol or ShivaTemple is situated on the banks of Sivasagar Lake of Sivasagar. Dedicated to Lord Shiva, Shivadol was built in 1734 by Bar Raja Ambika, queen of Ahom King Swargadeo Siba Singha. It is the tallest Shiva temple in India with a height of about 32 m and base perimeter of 59 m. . It is caped seven feet high large Golden Dome, called 'Kolosi', on the topmost part of the dole. The walls of the temple are sculptured with statues of numerous Hindu Gods and Goddesses.

 

Joysagar Tank: A man-made tank excavated by Ahom king Swargadeo Rudra Singha in memory of his mother Joymoti at Rangpur. Historical records reveal that the tank was constructed in 45 days at Rangpur in 1697. It is the largest man-made lake in India and stands on the area of 318 acres half of which is under water. The octagonal Garbagriha or sanctum sanctorum of the temple forms its main component. Two small temples behind the main one dedicated to Surya and Ganesha are also visited by pilgrims in huge numbers the tank and temples, built in the year 1697, within just 45 days, cover a total area of approximately 318 acres.

 

Charaideo: Charaideo was the first capital of the Ahom kingdom established by the first Ahom king Chao Lung Siu-Ka-Pha in 1228. The main attraction of Charaideo is its vaults of the king and members of the Ahom dynasty. These vaults built of stones and bricks, are in ruins today.

 

Kareng Ghar: Kareng Ghar also known as The Garhgaon Palace, is located in Garhgaon, 15 kilometres in Upper Assam, India. The entrance of the Rang Ghar has two beautiful stone-carved crocodile structures on either sides, whereas, the roof of the main structure is like a boat, kept upside down.

Gymkhana Club: Gymkhana Club, which ranks amongst the oldest clubs in India, is located 4 km from Jorhat. It is also the third oldest golf club in the world, which is still in use. Gymkhana Club served a venue for conducting horse races. For about half a century, Indians were not allowed to gain access into the club. The lush green golf course hopes to achieve a spot in the list of World Heritage Sites being the oldest golf course in the whole of Asia.

 Gibbon Wildlife Sanctuary is situated 15 km from Jorhat. Spread across 1915 hectares of land, Gibbon Wildlife Sanctuary was declared the status in 1997.
