Usually life comes to an end by 9pm in the city. So the only activity that can be done is eat out, Kathakali  Dance shows, Disco and Pubs. Some restaurants like Mascot, Luciya can find some affordable eateries within walking distance from the central bus station. Hotel Asoka, managed by the Kerala State Tourism development Corporation is located very close to the beach of Kovalam. They provide good lodging and food.
