Roorkee falls under the Northern Railway network of IR on the principal Punjab – Mughal Sarai trunk route and enjoys connectivity with important cities in India. Kotdwar, Rishikesh, and Ramnagar are the other stations linked to Delhi by regular train services.
By Air: The Jolly Grant Airport situated in Dehradun is the principal airport in Uttarakhand. The airport enjoys sufficient connectivity with New Delhi. There is one more domestic airport in Pantnagar, Kumaon area.
The best time to visit Uttarakhand is during the Summers (April to June) while some places are better off during the winter season. The summers in Uttarakhand, at certain places, can get pretty hot. However, the day might be hot but the nights are cool. Hence, it is advisable for the tourists visiting in summers to wear loose cotton clothes.
